Your SugarFur piece is ready to light up the night — and so are you. Read through this guide before your first wear so everything goes smoothly when the music drops. 💕

1. Power Options 🔋

SugarFur LED products use one of two power systems depending on the style. Check which one applies to yours before you plug in.

Most Coats & Vests — External Power

Your coat connects to an external power source through a connector tucked inside an inner pocket.

  • AA Batteries — Use standard alkaline AA batteries in the included battery holder only. No other battery types are supported.
  • USB Power Bank (Recommended) — For longer runtime at festivals or all-night events, plug into a high-quality USB-A power bank. This is our favorite option for a full night of glow.

Select Scarves, Hats & Umbrellas — Built-In Rechargeable Battery

These styles have a rechargeable battery built right in — no extra accessories needed.

  • Charge with the included USB-C cable only
  • Fully charge before your first use
  • Do not overcharge or leave charging unattended
  • Do not attempt to remove, modify, or replace the internal battery

Charging time and runtime vary by product and brightness setting.

2. How to Power On 🔌

External power styles:

  1. Find the inner pocket with the LED connector
  2. Plug it into your battery pack or power bank
  3. Switch your power source on — the lights come on instantly ✨

Rechargeable styles:

  1. Make sure your product is fully charged
  2. Press the built-in power button to activate

If the lights don't turn on, disconnect everything, check your connections, and try again.

3. Control Your Lights 🎛️

Three ways to customize your glow:

  • Mobile App — Download the Zengge app and connect via Bluetooth for full color customization, brightness control, and animated modes. (Third-party app — functionality may vary by device.) SugarFur DJ app coming soon!
  • Remote Control — Quick color and mode changes without touching your phone. Perfect for mid-dance-floor adjustments.
  • Built-In Button — Press to cycle through preset colors and effects. Simple, fast, no phone needed.

Some lighting modes may respond to nearby remotes. Adjust settings in the app if needed.

4. Wearing & Care ❤️

Your coat is built to party — just keep these in mind to make it last:

  • Not waterproof — Keep away from rain, snow, fog machines, spills, and puddles. All SugarFur LED products contain electronic components and are not waterproof or water-resistant under any circumstances.
  • Handle the wiring gently — Do not pull, bend, crush, or stretch the internal LED wiring or components.
  • Cleaning — Spot clean only. Always power off and disconnect before cleaning. Do not machine wash, submerge, soak, dry clean, or steam.
  • Storage — Store in a cool, dry place. Never store while powered on or connected to a power source.

5. Safety ⚠️

Please read carefully — this section exists to keep you safe and protect your product:

  • Do not sleep, nap, or lie down while the product is powered on
  • Keep away from open flames, extreme heat, and high-impact environments
  • Do not wear during intense physical activity or in hazardous conditions
  • Discontinue use immediately if you notice overheating, unusual odors, loose wiring, or any visible damage
