SugarFur App Privacy Policy

Team Sugarfur LLC (“SugarFur,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the SugarFur Light DJ mobile application for controlling compatible SugarFur lighting products on iOS and Android.

How the app works

SugarFur Light DJ uses Bluetooth to find, connect to, and control compatible SugarFur lighting products. Product names and device identifiers, including Bluetooth addresses where available, are processed locally to manage connections.

Data collection

The app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. It does not require an account and does not use analytics, advertising, tracking technologies, or remote application servers.

Information stored on the device

The app may save product nicknames, product categories, Bluetooth device identifiers, and RGB channel mappings in local app storage. This information remains on the user’s device and is used to reconnect to and correctly control compatible products.

On Android, app backup and device transfer are disabled. Clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it removes locally saved profiles. On iOS, removing the app also removes its locally stored app data, subject to Apple’s device backup behavior.

Bluetooth and device permissions

On Android 12 and later, the app requests Nearby Devices access to scan for and connect to compatible Bluetooth products.

Android 8 through 11 requires location permission for Bluetooth Low Energy scanning. SugarFur Light DJ does not read, store, transmit, or share the user’s location.

On iOS, the app requests Bluetooth access solely to find, connect to, and control compatible SugarFur products.

Sound-reactive lighting

Sound-reactive modes use the microphone built into the compatible lighting controller. SugarFur Light DJ does not access, record, store, or transmit audio from the user’s phone or tablet.

Email support

If a user contacts SugarFur by email, we receive the email address and any information the user voluntarily includes. We use that information only to respond to the request and provide support.

Children’s privacy

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users because it does not collect personal information through the app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app’s features or privacy practices change. Any revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
